Discussion Research Paper #5
Social skills training is one component of effective intervention for rejected children. The training methods for behavioral social skills include “instructions, modeling, behavior rehearsal, feedback, and reinforcement, and is frequently used in association with interpersonal problemsolving and social perception skills training” (Spence, 2003, p. 84). Define the kind of behavior you would want to change in rejected children (such as aggression, poor entry into groups, low self-esteem, etc. ) and then design an activity or lesson that could improve the social skills of rejected children.
