You will now use the topics we have addressed in this course to analyze the information you have obtained to form a business strategy. How can this data be used? What direction or guidance does this information give you? Once you have finalized a strategy, you will design and build a report in
the following format:
1.) Cover Page
2.) Summary
a. A brief description of your topic
b. A summary of how your data was obtained
c. A statement on the strategy you would like to formulate and what
business problem you are looking to solve
3.) Correlations & Similarities Review
a. In this section, perform at least 2 actions to determine if the data you
have obtained is similar and what correlations you might be able to make within your
data.
b. These actions would be cross-tabulations, Euclidean distance
calculations, clustering, or more. For each action you perform, add a brief summary (1-2
paragraphs) explaining what the calculation/formulas imply or indicate.
c. If your data is problem to not be well correlated, you may need to
obtain additional information or alter your strategy.
4.) Visualizations and Dashboards
a. Using Excel, Tableau, or another analytics visualization tool, create
at least 4 visuals to support your strategy. Please get as creative and detailed as possible. It
is highly unlikely that a basic scatter plot will be sufficient to support your data.
b. For each visualization, add a brief summary (1-2 paragraphs) explaining
what the visualization implies or indicates.
5.) Predictive Modeling and Business Strategy
a. Apply one of the predictive models we discussed in class to your data and determine,
based upon correlations and visualizations you have already created, and determine what
you can predict how well your strategy will respond.
b. Does your strategy hold up? Would you be confident making a referral or
recommendation on how your business should act based upon your predictive model?
6.) Conclusion
a. Re-summarize your strategy and validate how all of the topics covered support your
strategy.
b. Ultimately, in this section, what story does your data tell?
