In Chapter 5, we take a look at some of the major governmental agencies, local and global organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in the public health space. For this week’s assignment, I would like you to research and write a discussion board post of no less than 400 words examining a governmental agency or NGO of your choosing that operates primarily in public health. Some governmental agencies would include the CDC or FDA, NGOs would include Red Cross, American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, etc. You may also choose to select a global health organization. Your original post should touch on the following topics: (1) the basic structure and intelligible principle of the agency or organization; (2) current and/or primary fundraising goal, initiative, or policies the group is endorsing; and (3) most recent news story or headlines related to the agency/group.
