Write a research paper outlining your analysis of the 13th documentary film that you streamed on Netflix.

Directions:
The movie 13th discussed the history of our criminal justice system and the institutionalized racism within that system.
In this paper you will describe and discuss how racism is built into our system and how this has impacted minorities today. To begin with, in your own words, define institutionalized or structural racism. Then, using at least five of the concepts listed below, relate them to crime and our criminal justice system in our country today. Use some of the other facts you’ve learned in this course to explain or to use as evidence of the effects of this racism and discrimination. (For example, you might talk about the fact that black men are more likely to be arrested for a crime than white men and then discuss how that might impact their chances of getting a job etc. Does that have anything to do with the income inequality they experience throughout their lives?) This is only one topics you could explore in your paper. There are many more.
