What are the Factors that Contribute to a Well-Run Food Service Operation in Prison?Problem Statement Usually, students select topics that are too broad: For example, the death penalty. A more manageable topic would be one aspect of the subject, like the death penalty for juveniles. Select a topic of interest to you or, better yet, one that will benefit you in the future. Remember your topic MUST address some questions such as: “What are the Factors that Contribute to a Well-Run Food Service Operation in Prison?”, “What Offender Re-Entry Programs Are Most Effective?” or “What Changes Are Necessary Within Police Agencies for the Adoption of Intelligence-Based Policing?” “What problems surround the use of ‘no-knock’ warrants?” You need to formulate a research question and then review the research literature to determine the answer to your question. What you will turn in is your question, along with a brief (1 – 2 page) description of how you intend to go about answering the question, what types/foci of information you anticipate drawing on and discussing, and what you anticipate (not what you want, but what you know the existing literature/research to indicate) the answer to be for your question. I will not accept topics drawn from other courses in our curriculum: Capital Punishment, Serial Murder, Wrongful Convictions, etc. NO “RECYCLING” OF PAST WORK!
