Source 1: “Globalization: A Very Short Introduction” by Manfred Steger Source 2: “Pandemics: A Very Short Introduction” by Christian McMillen Source 3: “Walter Friedman “American Business History: A Very Short Introduction” The Assignment: FINAL EXAM ESSAY QUESTION: Explain the relationship between key aspects of globalization, pandemics, and American business and/or environmental economics (whichever one you focused on in the last part of the class). You select which aspects to focus on, but your answer should:
1. Have a distinct opening paragraph with a clear thesis or argument that explains what your approach will be in the answer. 2. Give evidence from the reading from the course to support your argument (simple citation is fine, like “Smith, p. 15”)
3. Explain how the various aspects and themes you have selected relate to one another
4. Draw SELECTIVELY from your earlier discussion board posts and/or essay, but the majority of your exam should be new material.
5. Have a distinct concluding paragraph that explains how we can learn from historical study and what your selected themes teach us about these subjects. The answer should be 750 words (3 pages) long, spell-checked, and written in your own words (except for whatever quotes you use from our course textbooks).
