Discussion Topic Assistive Technology for Communication For this week, read Carpenter, L. B., Johnston, L. B., & Beard, L. A. (2015). Assistive technology: Access for all students (3rd ed.). Pearson. · Chapter 7: Assistive Technology for Communication For your main post, give examples of assistive technology (AT) being utilized in your work environment to support students in the area of communication. For each example, provide an explanation of what area of communication is targeted and how this particular AT supports students in this area? Also, analyze your examples and recommend whether the particular AT should continue to be used in your work environment with an explanation. Initial or Main Post: You are required to make an initial original post to the discussion board prompt. Make sure your initial post thoroughly addresses all parts of the discussion prompt. Your comments should be clearly and concisely stated, demonstrating that the content was appropriately reviewed and synthesized. Include in-text citations and references in APA format. Utilize, paraphrase, and summarize your text, course resources, and other scholarly literature to support your posts. Your initial discussion board post is due by Day 4 (Thursday) of the week. Peer Responses: In order to meet proficient requirements, you should write at least three response posts to three peers or classmates. Your response posts should offer substantial, well written contributions of opinions, observations, questions, experiences, critiques, suggestions, etc. supported by references. Your response should be written throughout the discussion board period/week on at least three different days.
