Nadia Boulanger Juliette Nadia Boulanger was born September 16, 1887. She was a famous French music teacher and conductor who influenced the lives of several well-known pianists and composers through her pedagogy. She had a close relationship with her demanding mother, Raissa Boulanger, and younger sister, Lili Boulanger. She became a disciple of Ravel and studied composition with Gabriel Faure. She had a life of touring, composing, and teaching, but most of all, her life left a lineage of prominent composers and a lasting impact on the world.
