This transformative approach to healthcare delivery has become especially relevant in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, where social distancing and limited in-person healthcare visits have necessitated innovative solutions for patient care (Brown et al., 2020). Healthcare professionals play a pivotal role in this transformation, as they are at the forefront of telemedicine implementation.
This qualitative research study aims to explore healthcare professionals’ perceptions and experiences regarding the adoption of telemedicine in their clinical practice. Understanding their perspectives and the factors that influence their attitudes toward telemedicine adoption is crucial for optimizing the integration of this technology into healthcare systems. The study addresses two primary research questions:
- How do healthcare professionals perceive the adoption of telemedicine in their clinical practice, and what factors influence their perceptions?
- What are the barriers and facilitators that healthcare professionals encounter when incorporating telemedicine into their daily routines?
To answer these questions, this study employs a qualitative research design, specifically adopting a phenomenological approach (Smith, 2017).
