Chapter 12 addresses stress, coping, adaptation and health behavior while Chapter 13 covers interpersonal communication in health and illness. Cohen, Kessler, and Gordon (as cited in Glanz et al., 2015), define stress as “the perception that a situation exceeds the psychological, social, or material resources for coping (p.223). It is crucial the health educator recognize stress and identify coping strategies for the population with which they work .In addition, interpersonal relationships are the key to health behavior changes.
