Subject: Nursing
***Every unit submission should begin with a two-page reflection as described in the syllabus.
After writin that reflection, in a separate section in the same document, please answer the
questions below thoroughly.***
1. The first two readings in this unit (Scientific American, 2014 and Caputi & McLellan, 2017)
both focus on the DARE
Program and changes that have been made in recent years to the
curriculum. Do the two sources seem to be in agreement about evaluations and in their overall
tone toward the program’s changes? Explain.
2. Describe the
main components of an ideal drug education program in your opinion. What age
group would be the main focus? Who would deliver the message? What model would be used?
What would you consider “success” for that drug education program?
3. Drug courts are well accepted in the United States, yet the term “decriminalization”
seems
radical and extreme. Based on the readings/videos in this section, describe how drug courts in the
U.S.
and decriminalization in a country like Portugal are similar and how they are different from
each other.
