Objective
The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate yourself (or someone you interview**) as a sexual individual by applying a sociological perspective. In this assignment, you will practice thinking about your sexual attitudes and behavior sociologically. Rather than thinking about sexuality as a personal and private part of you that stems from biology and psychology, think about how your (or your interviewee’s) sexual development is patterned and repetitive.
According to sociologists, our behaviors are patterned and repetitive based on the social groups that we belong to. How did your relationship to the different social groups that you belong to shape your understanding of sexuality and development of your own sexuality? Describe and evaluate yourself (or someone you interview) as a sexual person by examining how your (their) sexuality and sexual development may be affected by your (their) relationship to the different social groups that you (they) belong to or do not belong to. Some of the social groups to consider include groups by race, gender, SES, nationality, age, relationship status, religion etc… Do the people around you (them), such as family and friends, hold the same sexual attitudes as you?
In this assignment, please use 6 concepts or terms introduced in the course in the attachment below. Highlight the concept or term that you applied in yellow.
