There is evidence to support the use of catheter-directed thrombolysis (e.g. EKOS) in the treatment of pulmonary embolism. Please discuss the criteria for the use of EKOS, and discuss an appropriate treatment plan for a patient diagnosed with pulmonary embolism if the patient does not meet criteria for treatment with EKOS. You should investigate the differences between low-risk, intermediate-risk, and high-risk patient groups, and use your findings within your discussions.
