In this Threaded Discussion I want you to consider the idea of CBA & CEA from a more global stance! As a country we are struggling with what to do with our healthcare dollars and the delivery of our health care services. We worry when those in government discuss any form of “socialized medicine” – whatever we “think” that is. Interestingly in preparing for this course I found an interesting article that discussed the value (or not) of teaching or using cost analysis in health care decisions. Based on the rationale shared by Donaldson et al., use the article and reports provided in the readings in this unit and share with the class your thoughts on how this information should, or should not change policy or processes? You are welcome to use any others you have discovered along the way that you think would add to the TD as well.

-Consider your own topics of interest including, development and allocation of new cancer therapies (e.g., esp genetically targeted therapies), new therapies to treat cardiovascular disease, etc.
