Discuss the main strands in feminist organising in India since the 1970s

This essay is set in the field of Indian history, particuarly in the area of post-colonial democracy. This essay must be highly analytical (Masters quality) and discuss the primary strands in feminist organising in India from the 1970s to the modern era. The essay must be well structured – you can work chronologically from the 1970s onwards but please do not just mention every single strand of feminist organising, this essay is not meant to be a chronological retelling of feminist history; pick the most significant/influential ones and critically analyse them and their significance to women’s rights in India and democracy as a whole. While the focus should be on feminism please keep the idea of democracy in mind throughout the essay and how the feminist strands improved (or failed to improve democracy). Consider the role of the government and how its stance changed over time (from Congress in 1970 to Modi in the modern era). You must use many important indian historians as sources to support the essay. While there should be mostly secondary sources, do use any relevant primary sources when discussing the feminist strands or the government of the time. Use specific case studies when relevant, such as moments where feminist strands came together after an incident or act of violence. Please make sure each point is detailed enough, I would not like there to be several small paragraphs. Please use MHRA referencing. There is a strict 3000 word limit (not including the title or references) so please stick to it. 25 sources is not a required number, but more of a guidline – you can use less if you have analysed enough in sufficient detail. Here are some significant texts that would be useful to this essay:
Anu Ameja – Women’s and Gender Studies in India
Christine Keating – Framing the Postcolonial Sexual Contract
Geraldine Forbes – Women in modern India
Gail Omvedt – The Downtrodden among the Downtrodden – An interview with a Dalit Agricultural Labourer
(Gail Omvedt is a very good author for this topic)
Bharati Ray – Women of India

Feel free to use any other sources you see fit for this essay. If you have any questions of queries about it please ask me. Thank you.

My first writer failed to do what I asked so I must reiterate the following. I do not want a list of different feminisms such as liberal feminism, radical feminism etc. I need the focus to be on SPECIFIC examples of feminist strands and what they did/stood for in India. The descriptions cannot be generalised.
