As your Final Project for our Bar & Beverage Management section of CULA 209, please pick ONE of the following choices below. You can always turn this project in EARLY, however, there is a HARD end date of MAY 1ST! Projects will NOT be accepted late. No exceptions.
OPTIONS (pick only 1):
1. Write a 2-page research paper about a specific BREWERY. Include history, brewing process, types of beer brewed, their flagship beer, where you can purchase it, fun facts, etc. Should be double-spaced, 12-point font. Make it interesting and FUN! Pictures encouraged, but do not count towards the 2 pages.
2. Write a 2-page research paper about a specific WINERY. Include history, winemaking process, varietals of wine produced, their flagship varietal, where you can purchase it, fun facts, etc. Should be double-spaced, 12-point font. Make it interesting and FUN! Pictures encouraged, but do not count towards the 2 pages.
3. Write a 2-page research paper about a specific SPIRIT brand. Include history, spirit distillation process, types of spirits distilled, where you can purchase it, how you can drink said spirit (including cocktails), fun facts, etc. Should be double-spaced, 12-point font. Make it interesting and FUN! Pictures encouraged, but do not count towards the 2 pages.
4. Create a Beverage Menu for a foodservice operation. Describe the type of foodservice operation (concept, ambiance, décor, location, type of food that is served, etc.) in paragraph form. Then create an ACTUAL Beverage Menu (either a physical menu or on the computer). Menu must include at LEAST: 4 cocktails, 3 wines, 3 beers and 2 non-alcoholic options. Descriptions of the drinks must be provided as well as prices. You will be graded on the look of the menu (must be cohesive with your restaurant/bar description). Additionally, cocktail recipes must be included (they can be found online or you can create your own). If you create a physical menu, you may turn in a quality picture of your menu along with your description in paragraph form. *Bonus Points for Suggested Food Pairings*
