textbook, Qualitative Research Design: An Interactive Approach (3rd edition) by Joseph A.

Maxwell, on pages 158 and 159. Also, review the proposal examples in the book appendixes.If you are writing a thesis, I encourage you to relate this proposal to your topic of study. If you
wish to do a qualitative thesis, this could end up being the methods section of your thesis.
o Be sure that your research proposal addresses all the sections suggested in the book.
These include research goals, conceptual framework, research questions, research
relationships, site and participant selection, data collection, data analysis, and validity.
• Your first draft is worth 50 points
o Recognize this is a first draft, not a rough draft. This means it should be edited and
complete.
o If you take my feedback on each reading exercise throughout the semester as you prepare
your first draft, you should have no problem.
o I will provide feedback on this draft for you to revise your final research proposal.
o Late first drafts will not be accepted without an official excuse from the Dean of Students

overall paper.
