For this assignment, you will have an opportunity to assess a social welfare problem at the federal level that addresses the chosen issue/policy selected for the I.D.E.A. Critical Reflection and subsequent assignments. You have spent the semester learning and researching a social welfare policy that was passed or is being considered at the federal level (current session), use the same policy that you’ve used the duration of the semester to develop a paper that addresses the following content areas noted in the following directions and framework below.
Your paper should follow APA, 7th edition guidelines. Use headings and subheadings as appropriate for organizing the content of your paper. The length of the paper should be 8-10 pages NOT counting title page or references. For this assignment you will use the Popple & Leighninger Policy Analysis Framework (2015).
Delineation and Overview of Policy under Analysis
-What is the specific policy or general policy area to be analyzed?
-What is the nature of the problem being targeted by the policy?
-What is the context of the policy being analyzed?
Historical Analysis
-What policies and programs were previously developed to deal with the problem? In other words, how has this problem been dealt with in the past?
-How has the specific policy/program under analysis developed over time?
-What does history tell us about effective/ineffective approaches to the problem being addressed?
-To what extent does the current policy/program incorporate the lessons of history?
Social Analysis

-What are the effects and/or potential effects of the policy on the functioning of the economy as a whole-output, income, inflation, unemployment, and so forth? (macroeconomics analysis)
