You will be identifying a nursing practice issue and reviewing literature that will support your topic.
Each one of the following elements needs to be addressed separately:
Nursing Practice Issue – summarize the practice issue that you will be researching
Issues should be related to a problem that can impact a nurse’s ability to provide care that is consistent with professional standards. Think of current barriers to nursing care delivery (e.g., staffing, resources, relationships, knowledge, etc.)
Rationale – Identify two or more evidence-based resources to support your topic and briefly explain why your issue is important based on the evidence/sources you are using. (Two sources – proficient; More than two – exemplary)
Resource Appraisal – Summarize and analyze your chosen sources and identify key concepts/findings. Please discuss each source as an individual paragraph for the most success. Was research completed? What did it say? What were the conclusions? Why is this source appropriate for your issue? What is each article’s thesis?
Scopes and Standards – Discuss how the ANA Scopes and Standards impact or is impacted by your chosen topic.
