If your instructor provided previous feedback on your last journal, briefly outline how are you improving based on it. (In Word, you may need to select “Review—Tracking—All Markup” to see feedback as “track changes”.)
Reflection on the peer review process.
a) What did you learn from evaluating your peers’ papers?
b) Did evaluating your peers’ paper change how you write? Provide examples.
c) Was receiving peer feedback on your own paper helpful? If so, provide examples.
d) Was there anything about this process that surprised you?
e) What did you enjoy / not enjoy about this process?
What will you take away from RE374? You may want to think about how/if this course challenged /changed your thinking around religion and sexuality, but other responses will be accepted too.
Overall Feedback
Your paper presents a fairly surface-level response to the lesson that can recognize and repeat examples from the lessons but not provide any higher-level critical engagement with them. You should be able to evaluate these examples using specific course theories/theorists. This deficiency is seen, particularly in your inability to articulate / apply anything specific about queer/feminist theory.
When I look at your progress in the course, the vagueness of your response appears to be connected from the lack of time spent on lessons. I suggest re-evaluating your approach to the class. Overall Feedback

What does this paper does well?
It is very readable and easy to follow along with the points the author makes about the strict right
What is at least one area where this paper needs improvement?
Instead of answering direct questions from the assignment instructions, I think it would be useful to find connections between the author’s points
Describe how this paper does or does not demonstrate effective use of course concepts and application of theorists.
The author draws on Foucault’s idea of bipower, and Endsjø’s chapter on religio-sexual priorities, but I think they could embed connections to these theorists throughout the paper and in the other paragraphs about the strict right.
Describe how this paper does or does not demonstrate critical thought and shows sparks of originality
I like how the author draws on information about the strict right and how it is prevalent in the WRDSB debates today.
Describe how this paper’s organization is or is not effective and logical
I think it would be more effective if each paragraph supported a central thesis using course content
Describe how this paper does or does not systematically support its argument with many specific examples
It does, but the support isn’t embedded throughout the paper to support the thesis
Describe how this paper does or does not make effective use of course writing tools (writing tips, library tutorials, etc.)
It is well written, some sentence fragments are a bit awkward but reading the paper out loud would help

What does this paper does well?
The paper does well with providing arguments that back up the thesis. They expand on the points they make, rather than just simply stating them!
What is at least one area where this paper needs improvement?
This paper could be improved by proofreading and making sure they are not repeating the same things multiple times! The organization of the paper can also be improved and the headings for each question are not needed.
Describe how this paper does or does not demonstrate effective use of course concepts and application of theorists.
This paper effectively uses course concept and relevant theorists that back up the argument well.
Describe how this paper does or does not demonstrate critical thought and shows sparks of originality
This paper demonstrates original thought as they include examples to further explain their point.
Describe how this paper’s organization is or is not effective and logical
The organization of the paper is logical, however, the conclusion could be stronger to wrap up the main points.
Describe how this paper does or does not systematically support its argument with many specific examples
This paper uses examples of how society in general regulates sex and sexuality which is good.
Describe how this paper does or does not make effective use of course writing tools (writing tips, library tutorials, etc.)
This paper used the wrong citation style guide which is why I do not think they made good use of the resources! But this will be good to know for when they submit their final paper.
