Developing Ideas for the Proposal-
The first step in proposal planning is the development of a clear, concise description of the proposed project.
To develop a convincing proposal for project funding, the project must fit into the philosophy and mission of the grant-seeking organization or agency; and the need that the proposal is addressing must be well documented and well articulated.
Typically, funding agencies or foundations will want to know that a proposed activity or project reinforces the overall mission of an organization or grant seeker, and that the project is necessary.
To make a compelling case, the following should be included in the proposal:
a) Nature of the proposed program/agency/ financial status” non-profit/for-profit. Why did you select this status?
b) Program/agency mission/ vision/goals, and anticipated outcomes;
b) How should the organization’s work be departmentalized? Create a visible organizational structure. What type of organizational structure will you use? Matrix, function, etc and why.
c) Staffing needs, including use of existing staff and new hires or volunteers;
d)How best to evaluate the results (performance measures);
e)Preliminary budget, covering expenses and financial requirements, to determine what funding levels to seek.

A program that I feel a sense of passion for is Juvenile rehabilitation.
Punishment does not alter a criminal’s behavior; it simply makes them remorseful for their offense. The goal of rehabilitation is to help offenders grow from their mistakes and become better people. Some contend that young criminals cannot change and will only mature into remorseful adults. While a small percentage of juvenile offenders may and do develop into chronic offenders for various reasons, it is unethical for our society to deny young people who have not yet developed to the fullest extent of their mental and emotional capabilities the opportunity to mature into contributing adults. Children who have not fully grown their capacity to make wise judgments for themselves are more susceptible to environmental influence. Juveniles, however, have little control over the setting in which they are raised.
My program will aim to address juveniles who have been placed in foster care; Problematic behaviors are frequently made worse by histories of early abuse and suffering, which results in arrest and incarceration in a detention facility or jail. These youth are more at risk of recidivism and ongoing contact with the criminal justice system.
