Discuss the rise to power of Fascist regimes in one of the three paradigmatic
cases we have studied (Italy and Spain) using the “formula for Fascism” we have articulated in class (Reactionary concepts + Social anomie in selected social groups + Specific historical –political, economic, social, cultural- circumstances).
What were the unique characteristics of Fascist ideology in the country you have chosen (mix of reactionary and revolutionary concepts)? On what social classes did the emerging Fascists base their support upon? What were the specific issues in the political and economic system of your case study that permitted Fascist parties to thrive? Please base your discussion on the materials we have used in class and illustrate with examples from the movies we have studied for each country.
OR….Please pick any given policy of any given fascist regime and analyze it in depth
(intellectual origins, implementation, legacy).
Examples of such policy would include>
1) Environmental policies
2) Racial policies
3) Religious policies
4) Economic policies: public infraestructure
5) Educational policies: propaganda, etc.
