“DfE (2018) Sexual violence and sexual harassment between children in schools and colleges”
You should attempt to summarize the key points the guidance document makes as the first part of the assignment – this should be comprised of a description of the safeguarding context that it addresses and the main guidance recommendations it sets out.
The second part of the assignment should assess the feasibility of the guidance recommendations that your chosen document is making and consider any potential problems in translating these into effective safeguarding practices. This analysis should also include your critical evaluation of the potential effects the guidance may have on different groups and any conflicts it could create in terms of social values, categories of vulnerability, and personal autonomy. As an example, useful approaches to the analysis could be your evaluation of whether the issue can be best addressed through local authority initiatives or if, alternatively, other actors may be in better positions to ensure effective safeguarding practice in response to the guidelines.
