Final Paper/Presentation
Throughout our semester, we have discussed in great detail of various factors contribute to the shaping of our society and the members in it. We have discussed factors such as divorce, healthcare, socioeconomic status (SES), and misogyny.
Grading: For this final project there will be two grades. I will look at the cohesiveness of your paper (40%) and presentation (30%); how well you organized your thoughts, understood the question and assessing your research. The two grades will be based on your presentation and written research paper.
Presentation/Final Paper: Your power point presentation should be between 5-7 slides highlighting the key points and findings of your paper. Your research paper should be minimum 10 pages. Both power point and research paper should be uploaded into the designated blackboard drop boxes that will be in your grades books.
April 3 & 5 (Monday/Wednesday), 2023-presentations will take place
April 12th research papers are due. (Any other past due assignments, please submit by April 12th)
INSTRUCTIONS: With the chosen question, please utilize scholarly journals, credible websites, and your classroom textbook. Please complete in APA format, include a bibliography, abstract, double spaced, 1 inch margin and 12 inch font/Times New Roman. (minimum pages 10)
With research, you will answer ONE of the following questions:
What are some potential reasons for our society maintaining a culture of misogyny? Why do you believe women are a significant percentage in contributors (income, professional, taxes etc), and continue to experience “hate crimes”? Do you believe our society and government entities (local, state, and federal) are doing enough to protect women’s rights and quality of life? Why are there laws in place with minimal consequences with regard to crimes against women? What are some suggestions (3-4) that you can propose that would end misogyny in our society? Lastly, why do you think even with your suggestions, conflict will still occur regarding respect for women and their quality of life?
In your own words, describe civility. Why do you think in the United States, the concept of civility has declined? What are some contributing factors that may have led to civility declining? In the workplace, describe why many employers find it almost necessary to operate their establishment with minimal to no civility? Why do you believe workplaces across find it difficult to employ civility among staff members while achieve optimal productivity? Discuss some suggestions that could improve workplace productivity while instilling civility in the workplace? Demonstrate through research data percentages of workplace satisfaction and productivity when civility is demonstrated.
Describe both the self-system and self-efficacy, and their impact on one another. How can a child’s self-system promote self-esteem? Discuss how good and bad self-esteem is derived. What socioeconomic status’s contribute to children’s lack or overwhelming self-esteem? As a group, do you believe a child’s ethnic background and culture attribute to the self-system? (consider our group discussion about students who fall into ALANA). What suggestions would you make as a group to improve a child, their self-esteem and confidence?
