Many have seen Heritage Minutes on television or online, little vignettes that tug at our heartstrings—but what do “Historica” Moments mean for students of Women’s History? Are they valid tools that democratize history? Are they a legitimate way to peak interest in the past? Do they shape a collective narrative? What does that narrative resemble? How does “popular history” influence the study of women’s history? Are there ramifications (positive and negative) to “snap-shot” historical interpretations? While women’s history has been addressed within “Historica” moments, there is clearly fertile ground to be covered.
