How do we make sure that a rational expression does not get undefined?Compare numerical fractions and rational expressions. What is common and what is different about them? Support your answer with examples.
Numerical fractions and rational expressions are essentially the same in concept and practice. They follow many of the same principles when using them in formulae or calculations. They are even visually similar in that they are represented with a bar separating the numerator/dividend and the denominator/divisor. Despite these similarities, numerical fractions and rational expressions are used for very different purposes. A numerical fraction is a precise representation of the division of integers. It has one value and that value is constant and does not change.
