3.6 Hiring for Match: The Case of Netflix (the case is attached below)
Review a case study, and report the diagnosis, solution, action steps, and evaluation for the case. This paper will be graded on depth and detail, variety and richness of information, structure and organization, appropriateness of selected solutions, creativity, as well as your ability to concisely and effectively summarize your case analysis. The breakdown of your case study paper is as follows:
1. Introduction /Executive Summary
• Summarize the key points in such a way that readers can rapidly become acquainted with a large body of material
• Formulate and include a thesis statement, summarizing your position and the outcome of your analysis in a sentence.
2. Background – Problem Identification
• Using the appropriate course material set the scene: background information,
relevant facts, and the most important issues.
• State the problem and provide the evidence from the case
3. Alternatives
• Propose at least three solutions for the problem
• Explain why alternatives were rejected (Constraints/reasons; Explain why
alternatives are not possible/favorable at this time)
4. Proposed Solution
• Provide one specific and realistic solution and explain why this solution was chosen (support this solution with solid evidence, concepts from class (text readings, discussions, lectures), outside research
• Include the personal experience if relevant
5. Action Plan
• Determine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution.
• Clearly outline detailed action steps that would effectively guide implementation of a single solution
• What should be done and who should do it? Provide sequence of steps.
6. Conclusion:
• Summarize / highlight the key points of case study, solution, action plan, and
evaluation

o Paper must be min. 2,000 words in length (four pages), 12-point font, double spaced, 1- inch margins

o Organization – Paper should be professionally written, in a concise format using heading,
and subheadings where appropriate.
