Please write an essay on Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ graphic novel Mister Miracle that focuses on a specific set of panels that investigates and expounds upon an idea or aspect of the text by: 1) describing and evaluating how the text engages with that idea or aspect; 2) develop a question about that idea or aspect; 3) offer an evolving thesis that begins to address the question.
Assume that your reader is a Cal student who has casually read Mister Miracle but will need description and reminders about any specific aspect.
Your introduction will include an open-ended question and/or thesis that will let your reader know what you will strive to analyze in your essay.
The body of your essay will strive to answer your question through the use of evidence, including quotations from the text, and reasoning. You are encouraged to cite panels of text as well, screen capping or scanning them to include in the body of your essay.
Each paragraph should address one specific aspect of your analysis. Every single sentence in that paragraph needs to relate to that aspect. And what you learn in one paragraph should inform what you write about in your next paragraph.
Your conclusion should do more than simply repeat what you have said earlier. It should summarize the most important take-away points. Why do your question and discoveries matter? You may also offer a new question that your argument suggests that we should now ask.
Include a specific, interesting title that lets your reader know what your paper is about.
This essay should contain 850-1250 words. It may be longer, if necessary. But do not worry about its length while you are writing! Focus instead on trying to fully ask your question and search for a deeper understanding a certain aspect of the novel. If you do, I guarantee that length will not be a problem.
