You are required to interview a labor relations professional and to prepare an academic paper on the role this professional performs as it relates to labor and employment relations.
The paper should incorporate the labor relations topics as learned in the course and performed by this professional. See below for minimum topics that must be addressed in this paper. In creating questions for your interview, develop questions based on the content of the course and that make sense given the person and position of the person you are interviewing.
The following topics should be addressed in this paper:
1. Select an interviewee who has employment and labor relations background in either the public or private sector or as a union official.
2. Develop a set of interview questions that relate to the content of this course.
3. Your paper must examine course content such as unions, bargaining, labor laws, various discrimination laws, discharge, employment-at-will employee privacy, and how they all impact the workplace.
4. You must also examine the future of the workplace and how it will continue to change in the 21st Century.
5. Include your opinions in the body of the paper.
Write an academic paper of a minimum of nine pages in length, not including the cover and references pages. Develop a title, introduction, key points and a conclusion.
The paper should utilize at least seven different academic citations. It should follow APA style for the parenthetical and bibliographic citations. All sources should be included in a bibliographic reference sheet to be attached to the paper (References).
Follow the Writing Rubric found in the main Content area of the course.
