Introduction to Psychology – LA 101 (worth 100 points)
FORMAT: Your paper should follow the APA style. It should be typed, double‐spaced, in at least 12 pt. font. The length of the paper should be a total of 6 pages (This includes the title page and the reference page).
TITLE PAGE: a title for the paper, your name, the date, professor’s name, and name of the course.
REFERENCES: You must include an APA style reference list at the end of your paper. You must use at least 3 different references which must include credible journals, articles, or books. You can use more than 3 references.
CITATIONS: In‐text citations in your body of the paper should be from the journals, books, or articles you list in your reference page.
In your Blackboard course, you can access the web links posted in the “Course Textbook and Resources” folder to research your topic. You are free to use other sites, but the sources must be credible and educational. Please check with me if you are unsure. If you are interested in another psychological disorder, you may ask for my approval.

Outline/Guideline:
1. State your topic and why you selected your research topic. State what you will cover in your paper. Explain/define your psychological disorder. What is it exactly?
2. What are the symptoms and clinical features of your topic? You should use DSM V criteria.
3. Demographic details: State some national statistics and background information on your topic. You can include gender, culture, age, socioeconomic factors and etc. Who is at risk for this disorder?
4. What causes the disorder? Explain the biological and environmental influences (nature vs. nurture) of the disorder.
5. Conclusion: Your personal insight. What did you learn that was most interesting about your topic of research? How do you think this new knowledge and awareness will help you personally?
