Note: you should review Exercise 2 on page 46 and the answer on page 160 and also Exercise 3 on page 70 and the answers on page170 to help with the problems below.
The following questions refer to this linked article on John Terry. Download this linked article on John Terry.
Start by reading the first part of the article, stopping at “Genealogical Summary” on page 148.
1(a) Break down and answer the five main questions as answered by the citation in reference note/footnote 17 (i.e., analyze the citations in the style of the table of Problem 2 on p.46)
If it is a layered citation, say so and include the additional analysis as in the table of Problem 12 on p.51.
If elements of a proper citation that answers are five questions are missing, in that box of the table indicate that by writing “omitted” and then describe what information should have been included to complete the citation.
Here is an image of the actual paper that I pulled off of the LVC Library website that should help you answer all of the questions for the original document. The first image is the headline from the top of page 1, containing the publication information, and the second is the article itself, from page 4.

(b) Repeat part (a) with reference note/footnote 21. (Recall that I discussed “FHL numbers” in the section on Searching by Microfilm Number in the notes on Using the Family Search Catalog.)
(c) How many sources are cited in note 42? Why so many?
2. The table in Exercise 3 on p.70 would have you identify an example of each correlation format.
In this problem, create two rows as in the table on p.70, but pertaining to the linked article on John Terry. Identify one example of a correlation in narrative format and one example of correlation presented as a timeline.
