“Each week, an individual will be in charge of choosing one additional text or piece of media that in some way connects to the readings of a section in a module. Develop an activity aiming to engage the whole class in a meaningful discussion that connects a topic from the course readings to a contemporary issue. The text/media could be an OpEd from a major news outlet, a (short) YouTube video clip (and don’t let the video do your work for you; make sure you tease out the points and purpose of the video), an article from Rethinking Schools, etc.”
The videos must be related to contemporary inequities or inequalities in the American educational system. Examples include critical race theory or other related topics. I posted two examples of slides.
