INSTRUCTIONS:
In this project, choose a historical period and focus on one furnishing that was popular or typical during that time. You will then present your findings in a slide show format.
Here are the historical periods to choose from:
* Classical Period (Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome)
* Middle Ages
* Renaissance
* Baroque
* Rococo
* Neoclassical
* Empire
Here are some suggestions of furnishings to choose from. You can use your own choice of furnishing, as well:
* bed
* chair
* table
You will answer these four focus questions about the historical period and furnishings using facts and details from three reputable sources to support your answers.
1. What was the political climate at that time? How did the political climate influence the design, use, or availability of the furnishing?
2. What were the social conditions at that time? How did the social conditions influence the design, use, or availability of the furnishing?
3. Explain the economic conditions at that time. How did the economic conditions impact the design, use, or availability of the furnishing?
4. How was beauty defined during that period? How did that view impact the design, use, or availability of the furnishing?
you will need to use a slideshow presentation program. Your submitted project must include six slides:
* Slide 1: Title slide including the historical period (and country), the name or type of furnishing, an image of the furnishing, and your name
* Slide 2: Description of the political climate of the time and its impact on the design, use, or availability of the furnishing with bulleted details
* Slide 3: Description of the social conditions of the time and the impact on design, use, or availability of the furnishing with bulleted details
* Slide 4: Description of the economic conditions that impacted the design, use, or availability of the furnishing with bulleted details
* Slide 5: Description of how beauty was defined in that period and how that impacted the design, use, or availability of the furnishing with bulleted details
* Slide 6: Works Cited list. Three reputable sources are required. This information and facts you include in your presentation must have citations in both the presentation and this Works Cited list
