Part 1: Lobbying Risks, Benefits, and Factions
Write a summary of the development and influence of farm and corporate food lobbies on governmental nutritional recommendations. As part of your paper, provide at least 2 specific examples of how farm and corporate food lobbyists can impact nutrition guidelines. Describe which food industry faction (meat, sugar, etc….) you see as being the most influential with making changes or keeping the guidelines the same for consumers. Be sure to provide at least two credible references to support your claims.
Part 2: Reflection
In a 100-word reflection, please explain some ways (if any) that you might consider changing your eating habits because of food lobbying. Do you believe if more consumers were aware of large food industry lobbyists (meat, sugar, etc.) and their impacts on products sold, they might make changes to some of their eating habits?
