The Founding Fathers wanted the courts to be protected from politics. In what ways was the judiciary designed to limit the role of politics? Are the courts completely immune from politics in their work? Why or why not? What role does politics play in Supreme Court confirmation proceedings? Should there be term limits for federal judges, including Supreme Court justices? Why or why not?

New sections of the paper (such as your Works Cited page) must begin at the top of the page. Do not run it all together. To that end, Blackboard can distort work after you submit. You should review your work after submitting it to make sure it uploaded correctly. If it did not, you should contact me. Once I grade your work, I can no longer help you as you would have a chance to read my feedback. A workaround on this issue is to submit your work as a PDF. They tend to be least likely to get distorted in Blackboard.

You must cite and use the assigned book for some part of your answers. Do not use other sources for information that is in the assigned book! Also, read the appropriate chapters before working on your Writing Assignment. For instance, if your topic is about the court system, then read the chapter on the Judiciary!
You must place the entire topic before your answer. You may then double-space down and write your answer. This is a requirement because you should check the topic as your work to make sure you are staying on topic.
Craft your work as an argument using the questions in the topic as guides to keep you on the correct path. Do not collect information just to lump it all together.
Answer should be composed of multiple paragraphs with each paragraph having a single theme.
Complete and submit your assignment as instructed. Make sure you follow the information that is placed with the topics you select for each Writing Assignment. Read the full prompts in the topic section.
Avoid moral arguments in your work. I have no interest in reading manifestos. Make an argument and support it without being normative. What something “should” or “ought” to be does not matter in these assignments. “Good”, “bad”, “right”, and “wrong” need be limited in usage. If it invokes serious emotion in you, then it probably does not belong in your Writing Assignment.
