Topic: Acts of Betrayal (politics and morality)
Works of literature often depict acts of betrayal. Friends and even family may betray a protagonist; main characters may likewise be guilty of treachery or may betray their own values. Analyze scenes from William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar that includes such acts of betrayal. In your research paper, analyze the nature of the betrayal and show how it contributes to the theme of politics and morality.
Instructions:
Works cited page must be included but not part of the seven page requirement. So it would be an eight page essay including works cited page. Must include outside articles in MLA citation and quotes from the play of Julius Caesar. Size 12 point font in times new roman double spaced. Two quotes per paragraph. There are 3 points in the thesis so there should be 2 paragraphs per point. The first paragraphs of each point should be from the play and the second should be from an outside source. So 6 body paragraphs and one conclusion and one introduction.

“The Saddest thing about betrayal is that it not only comes from your own enemies but also from your friends and loved ones.”(Unknown) The plot of Julius Caesar is continuously revolving around the theme of betrayal. This theme is seen to permanently affect several relationships amongst the characters and cause an immense amount of chaos. When there is betrayal, there is ambition and greed that lies within each conspirator. The tragedy Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare is able to depict acts of betrayal through several scenes including Brutus killing his best friend for the good of Rome, Decius selfishly convincing Julius to go to the Capitol and Cassius betraying Brutus’ trust in him by falsifying letters.
