This ECA is an individual projects that requires you to carry out a small piece of research on the phonology of English. Through limited in scope,your ‘mini’ research project should have all the basic components of a genuine piece of applied linguistic research, where you will need to:
i) choose and appraise a viable research question (10%)
ii) provide a brief literature review (5%)
iii) design a research plan and methodology (20%)
iv) gather a sufficient body of data (20%)
v) examine and analyse the data (20%)
vi) evaluate and discuss your findings and conclusions (20%)
vii) discuss the implications of your research (5%)
