Self-awareness is a critical component of emotional intelligence. Emotionally intelligent leaders do not feel threatened by criticism or feedback from others. Some leaders have a tough time seeking and digesting feedback about themselves. To be a successful leader, one must manage their emotions. This skill is more critical today than in the past. Achieving this level of maturity takes work and a commitment to constant learning.

Based on the information gained from the reading, in an initial discussion forum post construct a list of specific leadership behaviors that characterize emotional intelligence. Ensure that you also address the following questions in your post:
Do these behaviors match up with your own?
In what ways do you think leaders can get feedback? Are there any blockages that might prevent leaders from obtaining unfiltered feedback from others about their leadership style? If so, what are they?
