Analysis of Diversity/Cultural Competency Plan
For this project, you will evaluate/analyze a diversity/cultural competency plan. Students will be assigned to a University. The University assignments are as follows:
Central Michigan University’s Diversity/Cultural Competency Plan: Adam Abusalah, Shanette Wilson, Abigail Tyner
Harvard University’s Diversity/Cultural Competency Plan: Michael Carnarvon, Tara Parrish, Kayla Webster
Western Michigan University’s Diversity/Cultural Competency Plan: Jessa Heroux-Croy, Erika Peters, Alison Jerome
Georgetown University’s Diversity/Cultural Competency Plan: Eric Kubsch, McKenzie Reed
1. Identify best practices for the promotion of diversity/cultural competency in an organization. Where do these best practices originate? What practices would you add?
2. Research how your organization emphasizes diversity/cultural competency. Do they have a plan to integrate these concepts in their organization? Do they research diversity/cultural competency in their organization? Do they have some type of office for issues of diversity/cultural competency? Do they abide by the best practices identified in step 1?
3. Benchmark your organization to how the University of Michigan (UM) emphasizes diversity/cultural competency. Specifically, how does your organization compare to UM’s approach? Explain how your organization’s approach could be improved.
For this case, you will need to turn in the following:
