Argumentative Essay Writing – Core Task Requirements
BACKGROUND:
Recent global issues, both environmental and economic, have raised concerns about the future and importance of energy production. Balancing these concerns will be an important issue for the global economy. Whilst many new technologies have emerged in the energy field, it is unclear how effective these will be in meeting the energy needs of nations around the world.
QUESTION:
Select ONE energy source, and argue either:
1. That it will, in the next decade, become an essential energy source driving global economic development.
OR
2. That it will, in the next decade, experience a decline in importance, will never develop as an essential energy source or
perhaps become an obsolete tool of the future economy.
Must include Introduction with a transitional thesis statement, Conclusion, at least 2 body paragraphs, & Reference List. Subheadings should not be used.
Should be c.600 – 700 words in length, excluding Reference List. Should follow APA formatting guidelines e.g font, spacing etc.
Should include a minimum of 4 references, with in-text citations, in APA format, of a reasonable academic standard.
Must contain Argument, Counter-Argument/Refutation.
