For this unit assignment after you have selected a topic, you will include an introduction of your topic. You will then conduct research to construct an annotated bibliography.
Additionally, you are to present a brief history of the intelligence failure or event on your topic (one to two paragraphs). Ensure you address the following items:
U.S. intelligence community and intelligence analysis involved, which led to the failure;
U.S. intelligence community partners before, during, and after the event; intelligence cycle and how thinking about intelligence led to the failure; and
each of the intelligence cycle processes used or not used in the failure or event.
The overall assignment must be a minimum of two pages (not including title and references pages). In your annotated bibliography, identify at least three scholarly sources (peer-reviewed and authoritative; no news, media, or blogs are allowed) that you will use to support your research paper. Each source should be formatted as a reference in APA Style, and you should follow each reference with a summary. The summary for each source should meet the requirements below.
Provide a brief explanation/summary of the source. Identify what the article is about, or explain what the author tested. Do not copy and paste the abstract or the summary from the article and place it in your paper. Paraphrase and summarize the information in your own words.
Include a brief explanation of how this source will contribute to your final paper.
