Using a media artifact (movie, book, advertisement, music video) based on your cultural identity, you will write a seven-page paper reflecting your media literacy. In the paper, you will analyze the media within the four basic dimensions of media literacy (cognitive, emotional, aesthetic, and moral). Students are advised to select cultural artifacts that resonate positively or negatively with them; whether the artifacs stir controversies, ethical dilemmas, cultural shame or pride, or emotions. .

Page 2 – Background Info: Provide relevant information about this media artifact, such as a general description, when was it created, who created it, costs to create it, or revenue generated. Why did you select this artifact? How does it reflect your cultural identity?
Page 3 – Cognitive: What is your understanding of this media artifact message? What is the central idea, purpose, or message? Why is this message being sent? Who created this message? How might different people understand this message differently from me?
Page 4 – Emotional: What feelings are created by this media artifact message? Describe at least two or three.
Page 5 – Aesthetic: What are the creative or artistic techniques used to attract my attention? How well is it produced? How does it compare in quality to others?
Page 6 – Moral: What are the values or ideas embed directly or indirectly in this media artifact message? What lifestyles, values, and points of view are represented in or omitted from this message?
