Each person will obtain the ethics policy of the company for which you work, or for a company for which you might consider working. From those policies obtained by other group members, select one other policy for your further consideration. In a written report you individually prepare, describe the policies obtained, identify the policy you think is the better, and the policy you think is the worse, then describe why you believe the “better” one is better and why the “worse” one is worse. Compare the better and worse policies with each other, and briefly describe how they do and/or do not conform to the code of ethics of one of the professional societies (NSPE, IEEE, or ASME). Describe what you think is (are) the predominant ethical theory(s) supported and implemented by each
company’s code of ethics. [Select the professional society code of ethics according to the predominant type of engineer employed by the company.] Attach copies of the front page of the two ethics policies to your report. (Note that one of the policies analyzed must be the one that you obtain.)
Extra notes:
1) Ethical theories are either utilitarianism, duty ethics, vitrue ethics or rights ethics (suggestion: choose 2)
2) Attached is an A essay written by my friend from previous semesters.
3) Although the question says that you need to get one other ethics policy from a friend, we actually don’t need to. Be sure to write about two different company policy that you obtained.
4) Personally, I feel like Apple Inc (as in the sample I provided) is a good company with a good policy. Although it is not a must, I recommend writing about Apple as one of the company.
