Pick a dynasty in China to research . Need to access enough resources to dig up plenty of information about the dynasty.
Important themes for investigation:
How did the dynasty begin? What kind of social forces were at play? You might need to mention the tail end of the previous
dynasty to develop the picture.
How did the Dynasty come to an end? What caused the downfall, collapse or fading away of the dynasty?
The most important Emperor or Emporors
Major cultural patterns evident during the dynasty, as per archaelogical, historical , or other pieces of evidence. What kind of “picture” of the common person ‘s life is prevalent?
What were the major systems of thought (religionous, spiritual, political, etc.) especially the one or ones embraced by the
leaders.
Was it before Confucius? If after, where his values strong or being challenged?
Was a non-Han Chinese (non-Central China) ethnic group in power? If so, how did that group succeed or not in supplying core Chinese beliefs and traditions?
Any notable inventions, discoveries, or new types of technology or new ways of doing things? Can you contrast any of these with the timeline of when similiar inventions emerged in the west?
Can you find any information on how women were treated at the time relative to men?
What was the lasting impact, if any, that the dynasty had on China’s overall history and societal development? Anything else
strike you as important to share given your background and interests?
