1. You are responsible for providing a short reflection paper, 2-3 pages maximum. Your
response paper should take the form of a thoughtful engagement with two or more of
the
assigned readings. You do not need to incorporate external academic sources.
2. The reflection must place the course materials in the context of feminist theories and
concepts learned in the course. For best results, use analytical language and apply the
feminist framework to demonstrate your understanding of feminism. For best results, keep the summary of the texts short: the value of your work comes from applying and expanding the ideas found in the readings.
3. The particular way to engage is up to you, but here are some suggestions:
● Compare the ideas found in several texts and discuss what they have to offer and how
they are similar, related, or different
● Zoom in on a specific idea expressed in the assigned text and expand it by offering your own insights, explanations, and examples, as well as reflecting on how this idea fits into the themes of the course
● Discuss the strengths or limitations of a text and the theoretical concepts it has to offer
in relation to a case or example offered in another assigned text or in relation to your own
lived experience
● Discuss what is most interesting and/or significant about the reading’s argument(s) and why
● Explain what the text contributes to theoretical concerns raised in our course so far and what questions the reading raises for you
