Group: Healthcare Economics Presentation, Discussion Debate. In class
Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to provide the student with an opportunity to learn more about the economics of health care and its relevance for nursing.
Directions
Group members will agree on and will select a current topic that is complex and considered to be a major impact to healthcare. Topics will require approval from the course professor.
Conduct research on the topic.
Groups will present their final work during class, which will be scheduled by the course professor.
All group members will be responsible for participating in the presentation, answering questions from fellow students and the course professor, and fully contributing to the pre-work research, development of presentation slides and talking points.
Each team provide an introduction to the topic, state at least two key points in support and opposition, and then a summary of their topic/presentation.
Provide PowerPoint presentation of no more than 8 slides
Presentation 20 minutes in length. Two and one-half minutes to introduce the group and the topic, five minutes each to present both sides of the topic, five minutes for questions, and two and one-half minutes for conclusion.
Group will be responsible for keeping track of group’s time and answering audience questions.
Post group’s PowerPoint presentation on Canvas to be reviewed by all students
All students are to follow the ground rules of not raising voices and not attacking each other except on the issues.
