Scenario
Mrs. Smith is a 52-year-old housewife. She is overweight (admission record shows height as 170 cm and 82.6 kg (5feet 7 inches and a82 lb) and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. During a visit to her primary care provider, she tells the nurse practitioner that she always feels tired. Over the last two months she has been participating less in family activities involving going outside. Mrs. Smith also had a history of heart failure, which is controlled and treated with medication. She expresses feelings of stress caused by excessive demands on her time at work as bookkeeper for her husband’s small business. She expresses her concerns, saying “I just feel like a blod. I know I have to do something. I guess I have to start exercising”.
