There may not be a one-size-fits-all approach to addressing mental health issues and disabilities in criminal justice work, but many innovative strategies and initiatives are being explored to provide services and support to varied populations through the criminal justice system. In this summative assessment, you research and write a paper about one such strategy or initiative directed at a special population.
Write a 700- to 875-word paper in which you:
Identify an innovative strategy or initiative for providing mental health and/or disability services and support to a special population through the criminal justice system.
Describe the intent of the selected strategy or initiative.
Research at least 2 scholarly articles that support the strategy or initiative.
Summarize and compare the two articles and their findings.
Discuss how the strategy or initiative works, as well as potential outcomes and limitations associated with employing the strategy or initiative.
Recommend ways to implement a similar innovative strategy or initiative within your own community.
