Argumentative Paper
Your assignment is to pick a policy, law, regulation, or rule (PLRR) that relates to your discipline and to compose a convincing argument for or against the PLRR in 1000 to 1200 words.
Audience
You are to assume that your reader has casual—and not expert—knowledge of your subject, is against your position but is open-minded, thus persuadable. Considerations must be made on how to inform and win over such a reader. Your reader values conventionally reliable sources.
Research
You will be expected to support your argument with no less than eight sources, giving credit to them in APA style. You will be evaluated on the quality of your sources.
Rebuttal
You should include a presentation of an opposing point and a respectful rebuttal of it. Don’t just choose the weakest argument of the opposing side; take on the toughest. Doing so will make your paper stronger.
