This assignment will introduce you, a future counselor, to an overview of the addiction effects, affects, and models. These concepts will be the basis for future assessments.
Based on a minimum of three peer reviewed scholarly resources, beyond the course textbook, complete the “Addiction Effects, Affects, and Models ” document with prompts about the following:
Types of biological effects in the context of substance use disorder treatment
Common pharmacological and physiological effect of given substances
Process addiction and substance use disorder
Treatment relationship
History of substance abuse treatment in the United States
Development of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary
Psychological models and biological models
